Community contributions

Rio Tinto Coal Australia's community development funds address critical issues determined through consultation with local communities surrounding our operations.

2007 is the fifth year of operation for the Blair Athol Mine Community Development Fund. Since its inception, the fund has supported a range of innovative programmes aimed at improving the long term sustainability of the Clermont region.

In 2012 the Blair Athol Mine will cease production, although there will be considerable rehabilitation work taking place for years after that. RTCA is committed to closing in a responsible manner and sees the Community Development Fund as a critical component of closure.

For information on how to apply for funding, please contact the Executive Officer on 0447 599 990.
