Rio Tinto supports health check at Clermont Show
Free health and nutrition advice will be available to all Clermont Show visitors, thanks to Rio Tinto Coal Australia.
Supported by the Blair Athol Mine and Clermont Mine Project, the Rio Tinto show booth will provide visitors a wealth of information and advice on keeping fit and healthy, as well as hosting a number of free workshops during the show.
Rio Tinto's Occupational Health Advisor, Kimberley Smith, said the booth aimed to show the community that being healthy is more than just a passing fad, and a healthy lifestyle is needed to become a way of life.
"Health is a lifelong project, first you have to make up your mind to eat better and get fitter, then you need to start slowly making those changes and making them an everyday part of your life," Ms Smith said.
"Choosing to lead a healthy lifestyle is really choosing to live life to the fullest."
Ms Smith said the Rio Tinto Coal Australia booth would be supported by a number of health professionals to help those in the community that wanted to get on track.
"For example, a podiatrist to help you choose correct fitting shoes, a dietician to help with menu planning and an exercise physiologist to give you tips on how to get motivated to exercise and to reach your target heart rate."
