Budding miners awarded scholarships
Rio Tinto and Rio Tinto Coal Australia have awarded seven new scholarships to students in the areas of mining and metallurgy at The University of Queensland and the University of New South Wales.
Rio Tinto Coal Australia's Human Resources Advisor - Talent Management Marguerite Erasmus said the scholarships benefit both students and Rio Tinto.
"As part of their scholarships, students are offered the chance of vacation work at one of our mines," Ms Erasmus said.
"This gives them excellent industry experience that can lead to a fulltime role with the company once they graduate.
"It also gives us the chance to showcase the many benefits of a career with Rio Tinto, in the hope of attracting upcoming talent."
